Get Back to Cooking!

This is a shout out to get back to cooking. For the last few weeks I have been on a crusade to find better recipes to make. I have cooked some awesome recipes. Most have come from three food blog sites. They are fantastic. I have been spending any free time scrolling through old post to find some great eats. I have come down with a great system that has worked for me to keep track of all these fabulous recipes...here it is.

I have created three word files on my computer #1 Recipes to Try... #2 Recipes in Training...and finally #3 YUMMY. As I find a recipe that I would like to try I copy it to the word document "Recipes to Try". I think right now I have 20+ pages of recipes to try!!! At the beginning of the week I go through this file and pick out the recipes that I am going to try for the week. I "cut" and "paste" them to the word document entitled "Recipes in Training" I print out a hard copy of these recipes I am going to cook for the week and put them in my recipe cookbook. As I cook the recipes I decide whether or not they are a keeper for my family. For those recipes that past the test...at the end of the week I "cut" and "paste" these recipes from the "Recipes in Training" to my "Yummy" word document. Now I have my own collection of perfect recipes and I don't have to keep searching for where all my good recipes are!

So here is my shout out to EVERYONE!!! Get cooking! I will try and post what recipes I've tried that are Fantastic!

**Grandma's French Bread on sisters cafe is to DIE for. It might sound intimidating but it is very easy and very good. You will impress the heck out of your husband and family with this one for sure!!

Another Little Addition

Here is the newest addition to the family....
Jacob Lee McBride. He made his entrance on Monday June 15th at 11:17am.
Weighing 7 pounds 9 ounces and 20 inches long.

Jacob definitely belongs in his family.
He looks just like his brother.
I think that Gabe is already planning what wonderful things he is going to teach his little brother. Most of which will revolve around sports!! Now there will be two all-stars in the family!

There is nothing fonder than a brand-new sleeping baby. Alysa loved every moment that she was able to hold baby Jake.

This year we had an easter egg bowling compatition. It was a fun event for kids and adults alike.

**BLING** BLING **EASTER EGGS

This year for Easter I wanted to try blowing eggs and decorating them. I saw this done on t.v. and wanted to see if I could get it to work. Alysa's job was to poke holes in the eggs (one hole on the top, and one hole on the bottom) while I blew out all the egg "insides"! What a fun project. We painted them as we listed to conference. These will be fun to pull out next year...if they don't break!

While the easter eggs were being hidden...all the kids played a game of red rover. Does anything scream childhood more loudly than ReD RoVer..ReD RoVer send somebody OvER!
